CHAI Weddings + Events began as a little dream of Owner & Creative Director, Denise Chai.
Established in 2013 as Phalaenopsis Weddings and Events, Denise re-launched CHAI Weddings+Events with a fresher new approach to Special Event Floral & Design.
Having worked in the Special Event and Retail Industry for the past 10 years, Denise has unsurpassed knowledge and experience under her belt.

Denise has a true passion and love for what she does. No event is too big or too small for CHAI Weddings+Events. Denise and her team dedicate their time and efforts to make sure that each and every client is valued, their ideas and visions are understood, and that their Wedding Day runs as smoothly as possible.

DENISE CHAI

Denise is a highly-creative Visual Presentation Specialist with over 10 years experience in the Retail and Special Event Industry. She specializes in Merchandising & Styling as well as Special Event Planning, Decor and Florals.
Throughout her career as a draping artist, she has created breathtaking Wedding Backdrops, Chuppahs and Mandaps that have been praised by her clients and industry members alike.
Denise holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from York University, a Visual Merchandising Arts Diploma from Sheridan College, a Wedding Coordinator Certificate from The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada and a Professional Florist Certificate from the Canadian Institute of Floral Design.
Denise is passionate about decor and loves nothing more than transforming spaces into beautiful works-of-art. She also loves working with fresh floral. Nothing brings her more joy than making a rustic boutonniere or a wild and textured garland.
No event is too little or to small for Denise and her skilled team of professionals to tackle!

Jill is a multi-disciplinary creative with a well-rounded background in Styling, Merchandising, Prop Making and Corporate & Special Event Planning.
She has assisted with fundraising initiatives and events for The Sheridan College Alumni Association and non-profit companies such as: Reach for the Rainbow, The Children of Peel and The United Way.
Jill graduated from Sheridan College with a Visual Merchandising Arts Diploma. She is also a celebrated Custom-Toy Artist and Sculptor. Her work has been featured atop many delicious and delectable Wedding Cakes throughout Canada, the United States and beyond.
Her organizational skills and strong can-do attitude has allowed her to plan for Special Events with varying budgets without losing her client's overall vision.
No detail will be left unturned when Jill is Coordinating your Wedding Day or setting up your Wedding Ceremony or Reception Decor!

KRISTY KAVELAARS

Kristy is a high-energy creative visionary with over 11 years of experience working in the Retail and Floral Industry. She is skilled in Merchandise Planning, Trend Analytics, Retail Sales and Floral Design.
She is a certified florist, an expert in the field, and knows the ins and outs of the floral industry like the back of her hand. From growers to wholesalers to retail stores and flower shops, Kristy has had an amazing floral career that has included: Hoflands, Westbrook Floral & Sheridan Nurseries.
Kristy graduated from Sheridan College with a Visual Merchandising Arts Diploma and has also attained a Flower Design Diploma from Mohawk College. She is trained in Classic, Romantic, Rustic, Eclectic, Vintage, Modern and Glamorous Floral Styles.
She is always up-to-date with the latest floral trends and is innovative in her designs. Specializing in all things floral, from Bouquets to Boutonnierres, Corsages to Centerpieces, Floral Crowns to Garlands, she is your go-to-girl for all things flowers.
She loves meeting new brides and making their floral dreams come true!
